“Prayer is not a spare wheel that you pull out when you are in trouble, but it is a steering wheel that directs the right path throughout life”

Ayudha Puja is being celebrated since time immemorial. It is a worship of whatever implements one may us in one’s vocation.

To keep alive the tradition of Ayudha Puja the teaching and non teaching staff along with the House keeping team assembled in the decorated staff room at DSBA on the 12th of October at 8.30 A.M.

The staff room wore a festive look with colourful confetti all across the ceiling. The altar was adorned with mango leaves, banana saplings and flowers. The tools and the books used in the college were smeared with turmeric and vermillion and were placed on an earmarked platform before the altar of the deity and decorated with flowers.

The Principal, Dr. Sridharan lit the lamps, chanted hymns and mantras to invoke the Goddess’s blessings for the college as well as for the students. He made an offering of flowers, sweets, Naivedyam, and fruits to the deity and smeared it with vermillion and turmeric, lit incense sticks and rang the brass bell while doing the aarthi to get the attention of the gods. Later, the Holy water, Naivedyam and Prasad was offered to all present.

Soon after the puja rituals, to get rid of all sorts of evils the ash gourd decorated with vermilion and turmeric was smashed at the entrance of the college by Mr. Harikrishna while Mr. Divakar broke the coconut.

The Principal distributed sweets and savoury and wished everyone for Vijayadashami festival.
