Avalanche’15

Ethnic Day “Avalanche’15-Let’s explore” was celebrated by DSBA students with pomp and glory on March 20, 2015. The whole college seemed to be charged with ethnic ambience. All the students and staff members, turned out in their traditional best as one realised the importance of celebrating one’s origins and culture. Prof. Crissy Mathew coordinated the events of the day. In the morning, a quiz contest was organized by the faculty. Seeing the overwhelming response from the students, a preliminary elimination round was first conducted and six teams of two students each qualified for the main quiz. The main quiz had number of rounds consisting of questions from diverse fields. There were questions for the audience too.  The winners were Neeraj Kumar and Akshay, first year BCA Students. The quiz master was Prof. Meera Krishnan and the scorekeeper was Prof. Meera Seshanna. A cultural programme was organized by the students in the noon .It virtually showcased a ‘mini India', with students presenting their rich and vibrant culture and heritage through scintillating regional song and dances. Ethnical ramp walk was the highlight of the day. Ms. Dimple Shinde was the emcee for the cultural show.Ms. Monali Barua, a first year BBM student was awarded a prize for being the best ethnic dressed student. The Principal Brig (Retd.)Dr. Sandes gave away prizes and certificates to the students who had won and participated in the quiz competition earlier in the day.
