‘One Day Sales Activity ’conducted by II Year MBA Students

II year MBA students were given an assignment on 06th October’15 wherein they had to use waste materials and generate attractive handmade products within ten days and sell their products on 16th October’15.

The class was divided into six groups. Each group had five members.

The students used socks material, newspapers, used pencils, coloured papers, chart materials and created handmade decorative articles like dolls, candle stands, pen stands, flowers, bonsai tree, flower vase, ship etc.

On 16th October between 9:45a m and 2 pm ‘One Day Sales’ was conducted. Some of the groups gave demonstrations of how they created their products near the college canteen

.Looking at the novelty of the products made using waste materials, they not only managed to sell their products but also managed to get customised orders.

Initially, the students tried selling their products within the college campus. Later, they went out of the campus to the market area and restaurants.  Reality struck many, when they realised that selling products was a daunting task as they came in contact with customers with different temperaments. Convincing them was unnerving .Students however, were not only successful in selling their creativities but also managed to make profits.

Second Year MBA Students had adopted Obecudahalli Village on the 4th August’15 to empower them in the areas of civic awareness and education and so, the student groups mutually decided that the profits earned will be donated for that cause.

It was a great learning experience for the students, as this activity enabled them to showcase their individual talents as well as, enhanced their collaborative participation skills in groups. It not only sharpened their marketing skills but also helped them to become industry fit and equip them to deal with competitive times ahead.
