Connect Bindass Cultural Events

Connect Bindass is an open platform for the youngsters to showcase their talent in any field. Connect Bindass is a brainchild of Amit Kumar Singh, who is a second year BCA student at DSBA.He along with his team comprising of Shubham Singh, Mukesh Ahir, Piyush Ranjan, Bukhari Hasan, Dhanusha, Samreen and Parul organised an Inter Class Cultural Event on 23rd  Jan in the DSBA campus.

Prof Crissy was the faculty coordinator.

The emcees for the day were Mr. Bukhari Hassan [4th Sem BCA] and Ms Parul Malik [2nd Sem BBA]

The competition began at 9:45 am with the Bollywood Quiz. 25 teams were keen on participation and hence, a preliminary round was conducted wherein the interested teams answered thirty multiple choice questions in fifteen minutes. Only fifteen teams qualified for the second round. There were five rounds in all and after every round few teams were eliminated .The rounds included questions based on audio and visuals. Five teams qualified for the final round.

The judges for the quiz were Prof Chaitanya and Prof Meera Krishnan.

Runners up: Nityananda’s team (VI Sem BBM) 

Nail art, the next event also saw many enthusiasts. The contestants literally ‘nailed it’ with a stupendous display and left the judges and audience spell bound.

The judges for the competition were Prof Usha and Prof Priyanka.

Runners up: Navya and Shilpa (II Sem BCom) 

At 1 pm the most awaited moment arrived. Prof Meera Seshanna- Editor DSBA Newsletter ‘Pratibimb’ briefed everyone about the newsletter and requested the Principal to release it.  Dr (Brig) Sandes, Principal DSBA released the first issue of the college newsletter ‘Pratibimb’ in presence of Dr Veena K N, Dean DSBA, Prof Meera Seshanna, Prof Nikitha, HOD (UG), faculties and students. The Dean congratulated Prof Meera Seshanna for the successful launch and addressed the audience .She desired that all students read the newsletter and make their contributions in the form of articles to the future editions.

This was followed by singing competition-solo and group and dance competition -solo and group.

The judges for singing and dancing competition were Prof Surekha, Prof Kasthuri, Prof Srilalitha and Prof Hari Krishna.

Saree draping competition organised for the boys was such a riot. It drew special applause from the audience whose enthusiasm was exemplary .Even the judges couldn’t contain their laughter.

The judges were Prof Pravesh, Prof Sivaselvi and Prof Shazia.

Runners up: Karan and Rohit (VI Sem BCom)

The culmination of the events was the fashion show. The theme of the fashion show was as follows: First and Third year students-Ethnic wear and Second year students –Western outfits. The audience was left mesmerised by the young students who walked the ramp in some of the most gorgeous dresses.

The judges were Prof Pravesh, Prof Meera Seshanna and Dr Mudita.

The competition helped students find their creative side to stand out from their peers and helped them in realizing that to be the very best, they had to push themselves to their limits. Besides, the students got a chance to break off from their mundane schedule of academics. The cultural events brought a sheer moment of joy, happiness and pleasure to the entire lot.
