UG Students [BCom and BBA/BBM] made presentation on ‘Analysis of Union Budget 2016’ on 12th March ’16 between 10 am and 1 pm in the seminar hall at the college campus.

The event was coordinated by Prof Usha. The judges for the event were Prof Pravesh and Prof Lakshmikantha.

Dr Veena K N -Dean DSBA and Prof Nikitha –HOD [UG] were present.

The idea behind the summarization and critical analyzation of the budget data was mooted at DSBA so that every college student, regardless of which discipline he or she is pursuing, should understand the country’s annual budget as a stakeholder.

The UG students from the first, second and third year formed groups and enthusiastically participated in the event. They made impressive presentations wherein they brought to the audience’s attention the important aspects of the budget as it was not possible to cover all the details of it. Some highlighted the growth pillars of the Indian economy speaking largely on infrastructure and agriculture, some others envisaged the herculean task in the face of an additional burden on account of the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission, a few made a comparative analysis of last year’s budget with the present one, while some made their observations and chipped in their comments. They were open to questions at the end of the presentations. The Dean, judges, HOD, faculties and students raised questions to the participants which were adroitly answered by each group. The Dean appreciated the first year students for their notable participation.
