College welcomes first year students [Batch 2016-2019]

DSBA, welcomed fresh faces to campus this week, as the university’s group of first-year BCom, BBA and BCA students arrived on 27th June, 2016.

Hailing from different places, new first-year students, part of a new admissions program arrived hopefully and enthusiastically looking forward to a new promising life with parents in tow.

The inaugural programme began at 10:30 am in ‘A ‘Block, fourth floor .Faculties of DSBA were present.

A video on DSI was shown to the audience.

Prof Nikitha, HOD-UG Program took the stage and greeted the new students of batch 2016-2019 and their parents. She welcomed the Chief Guest-Dr B R Lakshmikantha-Principal, Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management.Dr Lakshmikantha has a PhD from VTU and has a teaching experience of over 37 years and 3 years in Industry /Research. He is also a member of Board of Studies at VTU.Prof Priyanka handed a bouquet to him. She then welcomed Principal of DSBA Dr [Brig] Sandes and spoke of his exemplary credentials.Prof Usha handed a bouquet to him.

She assured all the parents that DSBA understands the importance and value of time in the students’ formative years and hence the curriculum is so framed to give holistic learning in order to face global challenges.

She invited Dr Lakshmikantha and Dr Sandes to light the lamp .New students also joined in to light the lamp.

Dr Lakshmikantha then addressed the audience. He drove home the point that instilling human values is as important as getting educated and gaining knowledge. His short interesting stories motivated and inspired the students who were in awe of him.

Dr Sandes took over .He stated his expectations, spoke on importance of discipline, grooming, attendance, achievement of goals in students life. He also informed the students and parents about the curriculum and the co -curricular activities conducted in the college and wished that the students avail the opportunities and use the platform given to turn their dreams into reality.

Prof Nikitha proposed the vote of thanks and thanked Dr Lakshmikantha for all the support and help rendered for conduct of inaugural programme in the ‘A’ Block.

Parents and students were requested to proceed to ‘M’Block after they partake of light refreshments and meet the I Year BCom, BBA and BCA class coordinators for further guidance.
