CIL Training on Working in Teams and Interpersonal Skills

CIL training was organised for III sem BCom and BCA students on 8th August ’16 and for III sem BBA students on 13th July’16 in the seminar hall –Room no 110 during the college hours. The topic for the training was “Working in Teams and Interpersonal Skills.”

CIL under the banner of DSI aims to bridge the gap between pure academics and the corporate realities. The Centre aims to impart innovative soft skill training programs to enable students to become champion leaders in their endeavour, and to sustain a high level of performance at the individual and later in the organizational level.

CIL recognizes the challenge of unleashing the potential of individuals to transform them to achieve excellence. The primary aim of all the training modules is to allow students to take control of their lives by re-discovering their potential.

The CIL trainer was Mr Ashish and the entire one day session of team building and inter personal development was activity based.

Team building has become a buzzword in recent years, and team-building exercises are important not for the immediate experience of the activities performed by the team, but also for the group skills, communication and bonding that result. Activities were designed to motivate students to pool their talents and perform at their best individually and as team players. Team members discovered that diversity is their greatest asset and trust, cooperation and effective communication are the key to a team’s success.           Learning in the Interpersonal Development domain supports students to initiate, maintain and manage positive social relationships with a range of people in a range of contexts. It is through the development of positive social relationships that individuals become linked to society, develop a sense of belonging and learn to live and work with others. Additionally, participants learnt how to improve their interpersonal skills and how to maintain relationships over time through interactive activity

At the end of the session the students realized that it's just not enough to be highly trained in technical or hard skills without developing the softer, interpersonal and relationship-building skills that help people to communicate and collaborate effectively. Since each skill- leadership and interpersonal development- are an essential element for organizational and personal success, developing these skills is very important and does matter… a lot!
