Orevwa '17

Members of Batch 2014-2017 were bid farewell in the noon of 22nd April’17.The outgoing students of, BBA, BCom and BCA donned black and gold, the colour of the day! MBA students from Batch 2015-2017 were also given farewell by their juniors. The event was organised by the first year MBA, First and Second year BCom, BBA and BCA students. .Prof Crissy Mathew, the faculty coordinator of the Cultural Club coordinated the events and Prof Meera Krishnan, Prof Priyanka and Prof Usha, the faculties in charge of the Cultural Club helped in the coordination.

 The emcees of the program were D B Moksha [IV Sem BBA] and Rohan Satish [II Sem BCA].They welcomed Dr [Brig] Sandes, Principal,DSBA; Dr Veena K N , Dean DSBA ; Prof Nikitha , HOD , DSBA , Faculties of DSBA and the seniors.

 The programme began with a rendition of a song by Maitreyee Chakraborty [II Sem BBA], Mohsin Patel [II Sem BCom ‘B’] and Dinker Bhaskar [VI Sem BCom]. Dr Sandes and Dr Veena were invited to give a farewell address to the outgoing students. They shared inspirational thoughts & mentioned how the college had better prepared them to overcome challenges that they are likely to face in the next phase of their journey, hoped to see the students as good ambassadors of the college & conveyed their best wishes for accomplishment in all their future endeavours. Prof Nikitha shared some success stories of students that happened during their stay in college, narrated some of their remarkable achievements in academics and co-curricular activities and highlighted various contributions made by some students in particular.

 Surya and Manjesh [IV Sem BCom] enthralled the audience with a dance performance. Prof Meera Krishnan & Prof Chaitanya on behalf of BCom and BCA Dept recalled cherished memories while addressing the students & blessed the outgoing batch. Hemanth [II Sem BBA] charmed everyone with a presentation of a rap song. On behalf of BBA and MBA Dept, Prof Meera Seshanna and Dr Mudita shared their memorable thoughts, and also shared some best advice with the outgoing students.Swathi [II Sem BBA] mesmerised the audience with some impeccable dance moves.

 Some outgoing students, on behalf of their respective classes, came forward acknowledged & expressed gratitude to the Principal, Dean, HOD and faculties & also thanked their juniors for the memorable farewell. Nidhi Sridhar from VI Sem BCA, Rishab Jain & Sharad Joshi from VI Sem BBA, and Mrityunjay Hazarika & Abhilash from VI Sem BCom shared some of their pleasant memories too.

 As a memorabilia, students were gifted a laminated class group photograph which will remind them of their Alma Mater.The juniors had made a video of their seniors which captured all the prized moments of theirs at DSBA and that made some of them very emotional & teary eyed.

It was then time to announce the best outgoing students.

The Principal awarded them certificates, medals and a trophy.

 

Dr Veena gave away prizes & certificates to students who secured 100% Attendance, Toppers of every class and those who scored a centum in subjects in the odd and even semesters of 2016.

Prof Nikitha handed over the certificates to the students who excelled & won in the club activities, Post Budget session & Inter Class Sports Competition held in 2016 and 2017. She also handed over the certificates to students who organised and coordinated Batallia’17, the student coordinators of the 2016 International Conference, AUD certificates to the Final year BCom, BCA, BBA and MBA students.

 

Dr Sandes awarded the Ethnic Day winners with Rolling Trophies.

Final year BBA students sang a song as a token of appreciation for the juniors and cut a cake. .Final year BCom students broke into an impromptu jig and entertained the audience.

Finally, the programme ended with devouring the sumptuous snacks arranged by the juniors.

But for the outgoing students the day didn’t seem to end as they danced their way into the wee hours of the night to the lilting music organized for them by their beloved juniors!
