New Student Orientation at DSBA

The orientation program was designed to support and welcome the first year students as they were to embark on their journey at DSBA. During the course of the program, new students and their parents were gradually introduced to the College, from academics to resources and support services.

The inaugural programme began on July 03, 2017 at 10:30 am in the seminar hall on the IV floor at the DSATM ‘A’ Block. Dr Sandes; Principal, DSBA, Dr Veena; Dean, DSBA and faculty members were present on the occasion.Prof Nikitha; HOD, DSBA welcomed all the new students & their parents. She briefed them about the DSI Heritage and gave a pithy description about DSBA.The traditional lighting of the lamp followed; wherein, the students and parents were encouraged to come forward and light the lamp. The Principal and the Dean also joined in .A video on DSI was shown. Prof Nikitha gave a 360° view of the students’ life at DSBA and assured the parents that at DSBA one valued the importance of time in the students’ formative years and curriculum framed would provide students holistic learning to face global challenges.

Prof Nikitha introduced the Principal, Dr Sandes, who addressed the gathering. He spoke about the three programs and stated the importance of discipline, attendance, expectations and achievement of goals in students’ life.

Dr Veena welcomed everyone and gave an academic overview and its importance. She did this alternating the language medium between Kannada and English; thereby, creating a comfort zone for the parents which was largely appreciated and lauded by all.

Prof Nikitha introduced the class coordinators .Prof Priyanka, Prof Arun, and Prof Selvi spoke about the three programs offered at DSBA –BBA, BCom and BCA respectively.

After the refreshment break, parents/students interacted with the class coordinators in the Management block.All the details pertaining to the program- the various subjects, examination schedule, importance of attendance & internal assessment marking scheme was intimated to the parents /students and all the queries were answered adeptly by the respective coordinators.
