DSBA Literary Club ‘The Urban Reader’ organised a special lecture on Kannada Literature on 14th July ’17 .First year and Second Year Kannada students attended the lecture from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm . The venue was the ground floor seminar hall.
The lecture was organised by Prof Prakasha; faculty, Kannada Language.
The lecture began with an introduction of the resource person-Dr Maruthi Ram R.He is the HOD-MBA at DSATM College. His qualifications are MBA, M.Sc (Yoga), PhD. He has an experience of over 34 years and his area of specialization in Marketing & HRM.Dr Ram has written 9 articles for International Conferences and 21 articles has been presented by him & the same has been published in National Conferences.
Addressing the participants, Dr Maruthi Ram said that Kannada Literature has a rich history. His passionate exploration and re interpretation actually connected him with the students on a real, human, personal level. His presentation had slides on famous Kannada Quotes, Jnana Peetha awardees, scriptures, inscriptions, art, architecture, sculptures & World Heritage Sites of Karnataka like Pattadakal, Badami etc.
The talk ended with Prof Prakasha thanking Dr Maruthi Ram for enlightening the students and presented a small token of appreciation to the guest speaker for sparing his valuable time Students found the session very informative as they got tons of information & were literally taken on a journey into Karnataka’s rich heritage!
