Talk on Cyber Security-a buzz word!

The first year BCom, BBA & BCA students were given a talk on Cyber Security on 6^th July’17 from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm in the ‘A’ Block 4^th Floor Seminar Hall.

The guest speaker was Mr Shashank Dixit. He is B-Tech from NIT Bhopal and for the last 9 years he has been working within cyber security industry. In his organization Sumeru Software Solutions, he leads a team of cyber security experts and ethical hackers serving clients over 20 countries. He has worked with multiple domains of industry ranging from Finance, Banking, Insurance, Defense, NGO’s and government organizations providing cutting edge cyber security services.

He is corporate trainer and conducted multiple workshops on Cyber security for students, corporate teams and info-sec enthusiasts. His team is also recognized by CERT-IN (Computer Emergency Response Team of India) a Government of India body as Info-Sec service providers. Along with his professional passion, he is also involved in inspiring youths to lead a more clear, confident and focused life through YES!+(Youth empowerment and skills workshop) by Art Of Living. He likes to play guitar, do yoga, cook for friends and meditate.

He spoke about the unique characteristics & importance of cyberspace while introducing the topic. He then narrated the problems, threat agents one needs to watch, attacker goals, consequences ,ways in which organised cyber criminals steal information, goods and money, hacking into personal & public space ,the way millions of homes can be protected against the crime .

The talk ended with an advice to the young minds to take precautions to safe guard themselves against cyber crimes. The talk was informative, educational & beneficial.
