                  NSS Wing at DSBA organizes Blood Donation Camp

Save a life, give blood. Yes! Blood donation does save someone's life.

With this motive, and to celebrate India’s 71st Independence Day, a Blood Donation Camp was conducted by the NSS wing of DSBA in association with the Lions Club, Bangalore and the NIMHANS Blood Bank.

 

The camp was inaugurated by Dr [Brig] Sandes; Principal, DSBA at 10 A.M on 16 August’17 in the foyer of DSBA. Dr Veena K N ,Dean- DSBA ;Prof Nikitha Sreekantha ,HOD; Prof Kasthuri Gopal  , NSS Program Officer, representatives from Lions Club, Bangalore ; representatives from NIMHANS Blood Bank and NSS Volunteers were present.

 

Under the guidance and supervision of the NSS program officer, the NSS volunteers helped the representatives from Lions Club and NIMHANS in conducting the camp. About 130 blood donations happened through the day .Some faculty from DSBA showed their enthusiasm by donating their blood for the cause. This motivated many students of DSBA also to donate blood.

 

Between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm, NSS, Lions club and NIMHANS volunteers took a lunch break batch by batch to ensure that they did not lose out on donators. The camp ended at 3:30 pm with Lions Club members and a few of the NIMHANS volunteers donating their blood too!

 

 NSS Volunteers thanked the Lions Club & NIMHANS Blood Bank for giving them a chance t o be a part of this noble service.
