DSI Graduation Day was held on 11 August ’18 at the football ground in the DSI Campus. 110 Students of Dayananda Sagar Business Academy marched out from the portals the DSI campus on that day! Senior administrators from DSI, Campus administrators, faculty, non-teaching staff, students, parents and guardians were in attendance.
The Chief Guest of the occasion was Mr Takayuki Kitagawa, the Counsel General of Japan in Bengaluru. Mr Vishal Dhupar -Managing Director, South Asia NVIDIA was the Guest of Honour. Dr D Premachandra Sagar, Vice Chairman, Dayananda Sagar Institutions and Pro-Chancellor of Dayananda Sagar Institutions presided over the function.
Dr [Brig] Sandes, Principal - DSBA; Dr Veena K N, Dean -DSBA, Prof Nikitha Sreekantha, HOD, teaching and non-teaching staff of DSBA, students- their friends, parents and relatives were present on this momentous occasion.
BCom, BBA and BCA graduate students of DSBA assembled in front of the Dental College at 3 pm, registered themselves with Mr Lokesh and were given their graduation gowns and caps. At 4 pm, a student volunteer from each of the three programs-BCom, BBA and BCA- led the graduation march by holding the placards that indicated their respective programs. The Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour, the Vice Chairman and other dignitaries were invited on the dais and they occupied their seats. Dr C P S Prakash, Principal -DSCE gave the welcome speech and this was followed by presentation of bouquets to the dignitaries on the dais. Release of balloons and pigeons marked the start of the program. Lamp was lit for an auspicious beginning and some selected graduating students reminisced their days at DSI. Dr Ramakrishna, Vice Principal-DSCE presided over the oath taking ceremony. Mr Vishal Dhupar - the Guest of Honour and Mr Takayuki Kitagawa, the Chief Guest addressed the gathering. Dr D Premachandra Sagar-Vice Chairman gave the Presidential Address. University Rank Holders were presented with the medals. Presentation of DSI Graduation Day certificates signifying the completion of the formal academic program commenced at 7 pm.
Dr Sandes and Prof Nikitha were on the stage to present DSBA Graduation Day certificates to the students. Prof Chaitanya, Prof Sri Lalitha and Prof Crissy Mathew assisted them with the BCA, BCom and BBA certificates respectively. BCA, BCom and BBA Students of DSBA came on the stage to receive their Graduation Day certificates when their names were called out by Prof Meera Krishnan, Prof Crissy Mathew and Prof Meera Seshanna. The smooth procedure was ensured by Prof Shaziya and Prof Hari Krishna who coordinated the students off the stage.
Vote of thanks was given by Prof R Janardhan, Senior Executive Vice President -DSI and Pro Vice-Chancellor -DSU after the certificate distribution ceremony. National Anthem was sung, the Vice Chairman reviewed the Army Band, and there was the much-awaited display of fireworks. Students returned their graduation gowns and caps and had the sumptuous dinner. This marked the formal close of the event.
