NSS unit of DSBA Organizes Blood Donation Drive

To commemorate the 72nd Independence Day, NSS unit of DSBA in association with the Lions Club organized a Blood Donation Drive on 16th August ’18 at the campus. All the preparations such as arrangement of beds, sanitation etc were made prior to the event.

 It was a daylong event that evoked huge response with innumerable donors voluntarily coming forward to donate blood. There was an overwhelming response from students, teaching and non-teaching staff who donated blood in the course of the day! NSS volunteers, who are inculcated with a spirit of service chipped in to help promote the noteworthy cause.

Dr [Brig] Sandes-Principal, DSBA inaugurated the blood donation camp at 10 am in the presence of the volunteers from Lions Club, Dr Veena K N -Dean, DSBA, Prof Nikitha-HOD, Prof Prakasha-coordinator for the day and NSS volunteers. The District Governor, Regional Chairman, Zonal Chairman and Program Coordinator of Lions Club also graced the occasion.

The camp saw 133 blood donors who donated blood after a routine medical check-up.

At the end of the camp Prof Nikitha handed over the blood bag to the District Governor of Lions Club, and he felicitated the Principal with an honorarium certificate.

Donation card and refreshment to reenergize themselves were given to each donor as a token of gratitude. NSS volunteers who participated in the camp in registration process, motivating students to donate blood, taking care of donor’s, providing refreshments were handed over with a participation certificate for their selfless sacrifice, sincerity and dedication

Ms M V Poornima, II-year BCom Student was awarded a merit scholarship by Lions Club on this momentous occasion.

DSBA’s continuous endeavour to serve society by creating awareness for a lifesaving gesture - a noble cause was successful.
