Bittersweet to say the least. That was the feeling most graduating students felt in an emotionally surcharged atmosphere at DSBA auditorium on 11th May 2018 at Orevwa The students and staff bid adieu to the final year BCom, BBA and BCA students of 2015-2018 batches, at a grand farewell function which began at 11 am. The programme was coordinated by Cultural Club Faculty In charge-Prof Crissy Mathew, the Cultural Club Faculty Coordinators –Prof Meera Krishnan and Prof Priyanka and student representatives from second year BCom. The graduating girls dressed in a color code of black/red/maroon while the boys looked dapper in their formal wear.

Ms Anushri from first year BCom, the emcee welcomed Dr [Brig] Sandes, Principal-DSBA; Dr Veena K N, Dean –DSBA, Prof Nikitha Sreekantha, HOD; faculty and outgoing students. The programme began with a classical dance by Ms Pooja D N [I year BBA].Thereafter, Dr Sandes and Dr Veena addressed the graduating students and inspired them for the future life challenges by advising them to make an extra effort needed to succeed, stay open- minded and positive, be well mannered, punctual, well responsive and disciplined and wished them luck. Prof Nikitha also extended her good wishes and mentioned that being tough with students at times was to prepare them for a greater challenge ahead and implored them to be good ambassadors of the college. She also suggested that they continue their association with their alma mater as alumni and share their success stories with all students and faculty in future.

A spate of entertainment performances began with solo songs by Ms Sai Lakshmi Priya [I year BCom]; Manoj [I year BCA] and Princy [III year BCA], a duet by and Manoj [I year BCA]; Maitreyee [II Year BBA] and Mohsin Meera Patel [II year BCom] and Prajwal KR [I year BBA] and Anushri [I year BCom].Dance performance by, Surya [III year BCom].

A special act was performed by Shilpa [III year BCA] and her group [I year BCA]. They choreographed a dance replicating student’s life at college. The graduating students had fun and enjoyed every moment of the song-dance enactment as they reminisced their three years.

Dr Surekha, Prof Siva Selvi and Prof Priyanka addressed the students on behalf of the faculty at DSBA .They shared their thoughts, and encouraged them to have belief, courage and patience. Working hard would surely lead them ahead and give them a bright future and wished all of them success.

Ms Lasya Priya, Ms Aanchal Aggarwal and Mr Vishesh Tiwari represented their batches BCom, BCA and BBA respectively and addressed the gathering. They shared their experiences, thanked the Principal, Dean, HOD and faculty for the encouragement and support during their stint at the college. They also thanked their juniors for making their last day at the college so memorable.

The meritorious students who had excelled in academics in the year 2017-2018 were awarded prizes. Ms B S Sharvani [II year BCom] was the emcee for this segment .Dr Sandes handed over the certificates and medals to the meritorious students.
