Pre-Placement Training for III Year BCom - B Students

Pre-placement training is conducted by the institution to help students realize their dream for acquisition by corporates. The training sessions bridge the gap that exists between corporate expectations and student’s skill sets. The module of training meets the industry needs and improves the students’ employability skills. The benefits of the training sessions are very many -enhancement and improvement of employable skills, the ability to communicate effectively, the opportunity to enhance organizational skills, improvement of personal and professional effectiveness, increased efficiency and leadership skills, gaining the ability to recognize symptoms of stress and learning management strategies to name a few!

The training sessions were conducted by ProEdge, Training & Talent Management Solutions company for the VI Sem BCom B’ section students from 7th Jan’19-25th Jan’19 during the college hours in room G-01. The trainers were Ms Ankita Bhatia, Ms Shree Kumkum and Mr Mahesh Prabhakar.

Mr Mahesh has over five years of experience working for IBM India Pvt.Ltd. & other companies in the Software Testing, Business Development, Recruitment and Training and over ten years as a Part time Trainer for Aptitude & Verbal [English] for Banking Exam, Campus Recruitment Training Exam for different Engineering colleges/GMAT/SAT/TOEFL/IELTS Exams & Soft skills, Spoken English, AS/KAS Exams,

CA/CPT Exam, UGCET and Software Testing Trainer for Wipro. He has excellent verbal and written communication skills, a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to grasp things quickly, zeal to learn new technologies and undertake challenging tasks. His areas of expertise lie in aptitude/Reasoning & Verbal [English] Coaching for Campus Recruitment Training, Banking Exam, GRE/GMAT/SAT/IELTS/TOEFL, IAS & CA/CPT Exams, Content Development for CAT & PGCET, Business Development & Recruitment, People & Team Management and Software Testing. His academic qualification includes a BE from Sir M.V.I.T.

Ms Ankita Bhatia is a Soft Skill Trainer/ Voice Coach/ Communication & Language Facilitator. She is an integrity- driven and dynamic professional with 8 years of expertise and success at different levels of training organizations. She is passionate about leading and improving processes and people. She is currently working with IBM India Pvt Ltd as Lead Language Trainer for Communication Vertical/ New Hire Trainer/ Floor Coach/ Voice and Accent Recruitment Panel. Her areas of experience are in voice accent, language training, leadership development, relationship management, campus to corporate trainings. She has a bachelor’s degree in English.

 

Ms Sree Kumkum wants to establish and develop her career in an organization which provides constant encouragement; wherein, her talent and skills can be utilized for her personal growth and she in turn will strive to work for the growth of the organization. She is currently working at GETechnologies as Process Lead in Finance and Accounts. Her academic qualifications include a BBA degree from BU and MBA degree from VTU.

Mr Mahesh conducted aptitude classes for five days. Aptitude comes with right attitude. The competitive skills once learnt stays on forever with the students and helps them in achieving the desired job in future. Quantitative ability, reasoning, writing and verbal skills were some of the modules covered during the session. For cracking the aptitude tests the students learned HCF, LCM, number series, permutations and combinations, equations, ratios and proportions. Apart from these, they were also taught blood relation problems, coding and decoding. Some life lessons were also shared by the trainer along with aptitude. The classes were extremely beneficial, and the students were reminded of their school days while doing the Math.

Ms Ankita taught soft skills for the next five days. The trainer taught all the grammar concepts with the help of activities which made the sessions fun to learn. Some activities like JAM, Pick and Speak, Debate were conducted. The sessions were informative and enlightened the students about the importance of soft skills as an employability tool.

Ms Kumkum trained students on all practical aspects of accounting in the ‘Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable’ sessions. She introduced herself and asked the students to introduce themselves too. She spoke on the contents that she would cover in the sessions. She started with résumé writing. She gave an outline on the way one should write a résumé. The next point covered was how to align the résumé according to job description. She took an example of a job description from Naukri.com. Ms Kumkum briefed the students about the different software and ERP used by corporates while preparing accounts. Then she moved on to the three pillars of accounting- accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.

 

In the post lunch session, she enumerated the golden rules of accounting, Rules of Debit as well as Rules of Credit. She touched upon certain unheard accounting concepts -Representative Personal Account. Next, she taught the students account payable with examples. This was followed by P to P cycle [Procure to Pay cycle]. To explain that concept she gave examples from the typical corporate scenario. She also shared some notes with the students. In the end, she dictated some important journal entries and explained them and brushed up on the fundamentals of accounting and discussed some interview questions related to accounting. The thorough and easy to understand explanation, wonderful knowledge provided by the trainer was so beneficial. Overall, the session was very interesting and captivating.
