Report on the Parent- Teacher Conference

 

The Parent Teacher Meeting continues to be the strong pillar and support for the smooth functioning of the college.

One such meet is organized by the institution every semester after the conduct of the internal exams. A one to one interaction between parents and class coordinators, faculty handling classes & Mentors was held on 23 March’18 at the lecture halls between 9:30 am & 4 pm. The class coordinators of the respective classes called up each parent and intimated them about the meeting a week prior to the event.

The parent-teacher conference was a great opportunity to:

  • share academic progress and growth based on classroom observations, assessments, and assignments
  • learn from parents/guardians and be better informed about students' strengths, needs, behaviours’, and learning styles
  • discuss enrichment or intervention strategies to support students' learning
  • discuss issues that may be interfering with students' learning and growth
  • peer relationships, classroom behaviour, motivation and work habits, as well as students' strengths and challenges.

 

Discussion was also focused on student’s specific strengths and weakness in individual subjects, students discipline in classrooms, attendance and previous semester’s Bangalore University result.

Students, identified as low performers were advised and tips to improve their performance were given.

The parents also listed their comments and gave an online feedback regarding the teaching-learning, activities, facilities provided by the college.

Communication between parents and teachers is essential to student success in the classroom
