Outbound-Life Skills Training for II Sem BBA Students

II Sem BBA students were taken for an Outbound -Life Skills Training activity from 20th Mar’19 to 21st Mar’19. The organizers were Eagles Unbound who are located at Kaggaliipura, about six kms from DSBA campus.

Eagles Unbound oozes with fun and learning, an outing with them gives one an opportunity to know and rediscover oneself, cultivate skills and lifelong friendships. Besides, an individual can enhance teamwork, leadership and management abilities through various mind games and team tasks. It is followed by, daring oneself to complete individual and group obstacles of varying degrees of difficulty with the best safety measures in place.

At about 9:30 am, on 20th Mar’19, we set out with Prof Roopashree and Prof Shrithi, our class co-ordinator. We reached our destination in a short while. At the location, we were given a briefing about our overnight stay, activities, and the safety precautions to be taken by us by Brig Amardeep Singh, President- Eagles Unbound. The instructors/trainers were also present.

We were welcomed with wholesome breakfast, then taken to the activity area for the first team activity-G O R obstacle race. Each team had to carry a load in form of a snake, ensure it didn’t fall on the ground, reach the finishing line crossing certain obstacles. It was a challenging event but entailed a lot of fun in the process. It was followed by wall climbing high rope activity, archery and shooting- all of them were adventurous and exciting.

After such exhilarating and strenuous activities, we cooled ourselves in the rain dance arena. We had a rollicking time and enjoyed ourselves. In the evening, we were taught to pitch our tents. After a sumptuous dinner, campfire was lit. It was time for merrymaking, we sang and danced before we fell asleep in the moonlit night gazing at the stars.

The next morning after freshening up, yoga was conducted by Dr [Brig]Sandes, Principal-DSBA. After a splendid breakfast, it was time for activities again- Ziplining, low rope and team building activities. It continued after lunch too. After a hi-tea and feedback session, we returned to college at 4:30 pm.

Overall, it was a fun two-day event, there was plenty to interest the adrenaline junkie’s-adventure, challenges and thrill. We bonded and understood others really well, learnt to deal beyond our physical and mental boundaries, developed team building and leadership skills. The trainers were extremely supportive, taught us some life lessons that included not to waste food and to be confident always. They were a huge source of inspiration too!
