DSI Graduation Day took place on 3rd Aug 2019 at the football ground, DSI Campus which marked the culmination of the [batch 2016-2019] students’journey from DSBA. Senior administrators from DSI, Campus administrators, Faculty, Non-Teaching Staff, Students, Parents/Guardians were in attendance.
The Chief Guest of the occasion was Dr Kenneth Holland, President-American University of Afghanistan. Dr Mohit Gambhir, Innovation Director, MHRD Innovation Cell, Government of India was the Guest of Honour.Dr D Premachandra Sagar, Vice Chairman, DSI and Pro-Chancellor DSU presided over the function.
149 DSBA Graduates marched out from the portals of DSI Campus that day
Dr [Brig] Sandes, Principal, Dr Veena K N –Dean, Prof Nikitha Sreekantha, HOD, Teaching and Non-Teaching Faculty, Parents, Relatives, Graduating Students were part of this joyous and momentous occasion.
After the students collected their special graduation dress, they clicked photographs to capture their historic moments. The students assembled near DSJBS college. One student volunteer of his/her respective program –BCom/BBA/BCA held a placard indicating his/her respective program for easy identification and led the unit. They marched in a column and in a row/file of threes to the football ground-the venue. The HOD and faculty of their respective departments also stayed close to the graduating batches to ensure orderly flow of the event.
Students occupied their designated places. The Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Vice Chairman and other dignitaries were invited to the dais by MC. All dignitaries occupied their seats. The function began at 4 pm with a welcome speech by Dr. C.P.S Prakash, Principal –DSCE. Bouquets were presented to the dignitaries on the dais. Pigeons and balloons were released to mark the start of the event. It was followed by lighting of the lamp. Three DSI graduating students spoke about their journey from being a fresher to being a graduate.
Oath was administered by Dr Ramesh Babu, Vice Principal –DSCE. This was followed by an address by the Guest of Honour, the Chief Guest, and the Presidential Address by the Vice- Chairman. The University rank holders were presented with the medals. Presentation of DSI
Graduation Day Certificates signifying completion of the formal academic program began at 7 pm.
Dr Sandes, Dr Veena and Prof Nikitha were on the stage while the certificates were being distributed to the graduating students. DSBA faculty took care to ensure that the students went up to the stage swiftly to receive the certificates. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof R. Janardhan, Senior Executive Vice President -DSI and Pro Vice Chancellor –DSU.
After the National Anthem, the Vice Chairman reviewed the Army Band. It was time for the fireworks display. Students and parents had sumptuous dinner before the formal close of event. This brought an end to yet another GRADUATION DAY!
