Ethnic Day 19-a Day to Celebrate True Indian Culture

On 11th Sept 2019, Ethnic Day 19 with the theme ‘The True Indian Culture’ and Onam Festival were celebrated with exuberance at DSBA by students and faculty. The event was coordinated by Prof Crissy Mathew, Faculty In-charge-Cultural Club. 

The day marked a revival of love and respect for one’s own culture, history, connection to one’s roots and embraces the uniqueness of our country. It was also a day to celebrate the diversity of a vibrant Indian festival-Onam.

The whole campus was charged with ethnic ambience, energy and fervor. Both students and faculty came dressed in traditional regional attires .Dr [Brig] Sandes presented Best ‘Ethnically’ Dressed Faculty Award to Prof Shilpa Pawar and Prof Nazeer Pasha.                                             

A huge ‘Pookalam’-Onam Floral Rangoli adorned the entrance.III year students enthusiastically and painstakingly made the Pookalam arrangement. Dr [Brig] Sandes, Principal; Dr Veena K N, Dean; Prof Nikitha Sreekantha, HOD and students lit the auspicious lamp before the commencement of the cultural programme. 

In the noon, students put up a cultural stage show at the IV Floor Hall. The show was hosted by Mr Prajwal K R and Ms Pooja D N. Songs by Mr. Sameer [II Year BBA] and Ms Farheen Taj [II Year BCom] and group dances by Ms Mohasin Taj and team [II Year BCom]; Ms Meghana and team [III Year BCA] featured in the show were based on theme of the Ethnic Day. 

Students served ‘Palada Pradhamam’- traditional and mouth watering prime dessert of Kerala at the end of the programme.
