Session on Academic Administrative Audit

IQAC organized a session on ‘Academic Administrative Audit [AAA] –Why and How’ on 16th September 2019 at G-05 between 3 pm and 4:30 pm for the faculty of DSBA.                                      

The speaker was Prof Ravichandra Reddy –Former Acting Director of NAAC .With three decades of academic experience, Prof Reddy has also served as Registrar, Dean Faculty of Science, Chairman of Zoology department and as Syndicate member of Bangalore University, NAAC.

Dr [Brig] Sandes introduced the speaker Prof Ravichandra Reddy to the audience. Dr Veena K N –Dean and Prof Nikitha Sreekantha –HOD were also present at the session.

The main objective of the session was to facilitate understanding the need for Academic Administrative Audit, its process and impact on HEI.

Prof Reddy stated that NAAC expects the Institutions to undertake continuous Academic and Administrative Audits. Both academic and administrative audits are interrelated concepts .Academic Audit evolves a structured mechanism for quality enhancement in the institutions. While conducting AAA, challenges are located and the institution understands its implications. Administrative audit evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of the administrative procedure in the institutions.   

Prof Reddy educated the faculty about the objectives of AAA, the approach towards AAA and the methodology. He discussed the various aspects of AAA such as criteria, periodicity, process and outcome.

Faculty participating in the interactive session had a hands-on experience answering the queries raised by Prof Reddy that covered all aspects of the functioning of the institution. While engaged in conversation, Prof Reddy identified some bottlenecks, and gave suggestions for improvement and for overcoming the shortcomings.
