Workshop on Financial Education

On 19^th Nov 2019, IQAC at DSBA conducted a workshop on ‘Financial Education’ for the faculty and students at 11 am at Room G-04.

The trainer was Dr Sukanya Hegde. She is the Director, NIMS and is a renowned SEBI financial education certified trainer. Dr Veena K N, Dean introduced her to faculty and students. Dr [Brig] Sandes, Principal and Prof Nikitha Srekantha, HOD were also present at the workshop. 

Dr Hegde commenced the workshop by narrating the difference between investment and savings, then explained about the current market scenario by stating it with examples, and thereafter spoke about time value of money.

She further gave an introduction to stock markets, and SEBI educational initiatives.  

Dr Hegde’s workshop also covered a wide range of topics such as savings, investment, retirement planning, income tax, and ways to enrich retired life, mind and money management.

Towards the end, Dr Sukanya shared some tips with the students about saving money and insisted that they start saving money from that very day! 

Dr [Brig] Sandes presented a token of appreciation to Dr Sukanya Hegde and reiterated the sound financial advice and suggestions given by the trainer to both faculty and students. 

At the end of the workshop, informative study material was distributed to all faculty and students.
