Session on International Exposure & Ideas to Impact Business Model Canvas

DSBA-IQAC hosted a session on ‘International Exposure & Ideas to Impact Business Model Canvas’ for its faculty on 6th Dec 2019 between 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm at G-04.The facilitator was Dr Mudiarasan Kuppasamy-Dean, Faculty of Business and technology, University of Cyberjaya, Malaysia. Dr Muthuchelian, Pro –Vice Chancellor, DSU was also present for the session.  

Prof Meera Krishnan welcomed both the guests and invited Dr [Brig] Sandes, Principal-DSBA to present bouquets to the guests.

Prof [Dr] Mudiarasan Kuppasamy is presently Dean-Faculty of Business & Technology, University of Cyberjaya, Malaysia. He has a Ph D in Management from Western Sydney University, Australia and specializes in the field of Information Systems. He has held the position of the Head for School of Business at the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation. He has worked in several Australian Government Research Projects. Prof Mudiarasan is an ardent researcher and has published more than 50 articles and books till date. He has also embarked on various industrial and academic consultancy works and is a member of Malaysia’s 5G task force. He supervises doctoral and post graduate students in the area of digitalization and data science.

Dr Muthuchelian is Pro –Vice Chancellor, DSU. He has been a Vice Chancellor at Periyar University and on the NAAC Peer Team visit as a Chairperson. Dr Muthuchelian has conducted more than 50 NAAC audits and is actively involved in research, published more than 50 papers in National and International Journals of repute. 

In his opening remarks, Dr Muthuchelian spoke about DSU’s global exchange program with Cyberjaya University, Malaysia to promote joint research, training and development activities in the areas of management, bio-sciences and health sciences. The global immersion will benefit both students and faculty.

Dr Mudiarasan spoke about the global exchange program before giving an introduction to Cyberjaya University, Malaysia. Later, he gave a talk on ‘Data driven Organization-Value Creation’. In his session, he spoke about data driven leadership- its framework, outcomes of data driven leadership, data as an important component and importance of good leadership. He enumerated the top 5 trends in FMCG; derived insights and related them to academic institutions. He ended his talk by emphasizing on the crucial aspect of data.

Dr.Mudiarasan adroitly answered all the queries from the participants. 

Prof Meera Krishnan proposed the vote of thanks. Dr [Brig] Sandes thanked Dr Mudiarasan for his inspirational talk and presented a token of appreciation and gratitude to Prof [Dr] Mudiarasan Kuppasamy and Dr Muthuchelian. Certificates of participation were awarded to the attendees before the session drew to a close.
