Orientation on Global Certification Program

On 23rd Jan 2020, Orientation on Global Certification Program was organized for the second year and third year students at the IV floor seminar hall at 11:30 am.

The session was conducted by Prof. Dr. K. Muthuchelian, a world renowned biology scientist and currently Pro Vice Chancellor of Dayananda Sagar University, Bangalore. He has been a Vice Chancellor at Periyar University. He has been collaborating with various international prestigious scientific organizations. At national level, he has been an expert member of Man and Biosphere (MAB) Programme of MOEF, Government of India, New Delhi. Dr. Muthuchelian has been serving as a Chairman of the Peer Team of NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore) in many premier academic institutions in India. As an outstanding researcher, he has been collaborating with many international scientific laboratories/organizations Prof. Muthuchelian has been untiringly striving to promote the higher education at University level. Being a Vice-Chancellor of a fast growing University, he has brought in academic and administrative reforms for vibrant administration and rigorous academic initiatives.

He was invited to educate and inspire students to participate in the Global Certification Program [GCP]. He shared his experience of visiting universities in Malaysia by showing photographs of them and enlightened students about the digital platforms being used in education; Memoranda of Understanding signed with universities across the world to conduct GCP, student exchange programs, faculty exchange programs and many such programs which he mentioned ,will be immensely beneficial to all in many ways.

He further explained that the GCP is designed to optimize the benefits for the students; it adds value to the resume and helps students on their pursuit to higher education. The visit to Cyberjaya University and the likes as well as the industrial visit in the foreign location are a boost to knowledge transfer and will help students gain global exposure and bridge the gap between theory and practice. Prof. Dr. K. Muthuchelian later showed pictures of tourist attractions at Malaysia along with pictures of the host University.

The medical students from Dayananda Sagar University had been on a ten-day visit to Malaysia recently; Prof. Dr. K. Muthuchelian shared their positive feedback with the DSBA students and assured them that they ll be safe, well taken care of and will enjoy the life experiences during their Malaysia trip .He also invited the students to visit DSU and interact with the students who have just returned from the foreign trip.

Dr Veena K N shared her experience and opinions and thanked Prof. Dr. K. Muthuchelian for inspiring and motivating the students and hoped that large number of students participate and avail the opportunity at hand!
