Arebus Finance Club conducted the annual Budget Analysis Competition on 7th Feb 2020 at G-05 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.The event was coordinated by Prof Nazeer Pasha, Club coordinator and Prof Shazia. The competition was judged by Dr [Brig] Sandes, Principal; Prof Nikitha Sreekantha-HOD and Prof Meera Seshanna. Faculty and students formed part of the audience.
It was mandatory that all Finance Specialization students participated. The guidelines of the competition stipulated that a maximum of four could form a team, a minimum of three teams from each class had to participate, PowerPoint presentation was a must and the team was given a maximum time limit of ten minutes and an additional five minutes for a question and answer session by the judges.
By 5th Feb, 20 enthusiastic teams registered for the competition. Students examined and explained the components of the budget expenditure and revenue, used budget indicators to explain the structure, mentioned the key points, did a comparative analysis, and most of the student teams picked one sector of the budget for analyzation. The judges questioned the teams at the end of their analysis; some teams had prepared themselves very well and impressed the judges with their explanation.
