Orientation Session for Final Year BCom Students

Dr Deepak R is a Professor in the Department of Management Studies at the Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering. He has a Ph.D in Finance from Manipal University and MBA in Finance from Marshall University, USA.

The session was held on the Zoom platform. Dr Nikitha Sreekantha, HOD-UG Programs introduced the speaker.

The final year BCom students are provided with course specializations to choose from, however, it is always advisable to find an area which suits one’s interest. At DSBA, the students can choose either Finance or Accounting.

In his session, with anecdotes, experiences, inspiring videos of multifarious people who’ve made a mark for themselves, Dr. Deepak gave an overview of both the courses- Accounting as well as Finance.

Towards the end of the session, Dr Deepak was open to questions and with his diligent answers the students got further clarity and were able to make the right decisions in choosing their electives.
