Session on Soft Skills for Managers

Dr Surekha Nayak is an Assistant Professor at School of Business and Management, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) and has MCom, PhD, PGDBM to her credit. She has co-authored a number of books and her articles have been published in reputed journals. Dr Nikitha Sreekantha-HOD welcomed and introduced her to the participants.

In her interactive session, to begin with Dr Nayak defined soft skills and emphasized on its importance. She stated what industry thinks and wants from students; likewise, what students want. Further, Dr Surekha spoke about the characteristics and the way soft skills can be acquired. It was followed by an extensive explanation on the soft skills clusters and descriptive characteristics, must have elements and the subskills. She ended her session with an advice to all students to find and explore opportunities to practise soft skills.
