Date: 18 Sept 2020

Time: 11am -12:30 pm

Participants: I Sem BCom, BBA & BCA [Batch 2020-2023] students

Resource Person: Mr G S Sreekiran

The first-year students were introduced virtually to Mr G S Sreekiran by Dr Nikitha Sreekantha-HOD. Mr Sreekiran is the Founder & Director at CLAP and Chairman at KITE Foundation. He is the World Record Holder in Career Mapping and has mentored non -stop for 35 hours.

Mr Sreekiran started his session with a quote by Thomas Edison, ‘There is a better way to do it, find it’ which in itself highlighted- Initiatives and Innovation – the topic of the session. If one does not initiate and innovate, one perishes!

He gave several examples of products that have been innovated during the course of time and mentioned some of the excuses one uses to back out of innovation. He motivated the students with live examples from the industry to be innovative and entrepreneurial.

To make his session interactive, he showed an image of a pebble to the students and asked them to come up with ‘unique’ ideas to innovate and use the same.

What was amazing was – many students came up with some ‘sui generis’ ones!

He ended his talk by advocating each one to take a first step to initiate bring in the change.

Dr [Brig] Sandes-Principal attended the session and appreciated Mr Sreekiran’s presentation and on behalf of everyone Dr Nikitha Sreekantha thanked Mr Sreekiran for his very enlightening session.
