DSBA NSS Wing celebrated Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti on 8th Oct 2020 belatedly at 12:50 pm at the Department Library.
Dr [Brig] Sandes, Principal, Dr Veena K N, Dean, Dr Nikitha Sreekantha, HOD, Prof Rajani, NSS Program Officer Teaching and Non-Teaching Faculty, NSS Volunteers and students were present at the occasion.
For an auspicious start, lamps were lit and flowers were offered as tribute to the garlanded photographs.
Since the occasion marked the birth of two national heroes- Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri -their inspiring lives and the sacrifices they made to build a strong foundation of todays India was recalled and acknowledged by Prof Rajani.
In addition, as per the instructions received from the NSS Unit of Bangalore University, NSS Unit at DSBA conducted a Pledge on COVID-19 awareness and precautions.
Dr Veena K N was invited to conduct the pledge allegiance.
The Dean encouraged the gathering to think about the values and principles which Gandhiji and Shastriji held dear in their life; imbibe the good values and follow their footsteps wherever possible in one’s small way.
Each one present repeated the pledge read by Dr Veena and promised to abide by it to foster a safe and healthy environment for everyone.
