NSS wing of Dayananda Sagar Business  Academy had organized an event - Swachhata Program on Gandhi Jayanthi dated on October 2^nd, in kaggalipura UPHC. Dr. Niveditha, coordinator of the hospital, permitted and gave us the opportunity to serve our duties toward the hospital surroundings. The sanitization program started by 11am by offering honour to Gandhiji photo at the hospital. Dr. Niveditha, presented a small speech on Gandhi Jayanthi and the NSS volunteers began the session.

The main theme of the event was to create an awareness on how important our Environment is to us and to keep the environment clean as we being the responsible citizen of India. The NSS volunteers divided into 3 groups and worked towards cleaning and sanitizing the environment of the hospital.  Starting from back to the front road of the hospital, began with picking up of the dry wastes, plastics, disposed syringes and cottons. Later by sweeping all the dirt and cleansed all the chairs that were arranged for the public outside the hospital.

Dr. Niveditha, expressed her gratitude and appreciated the efforts of the volunteers for organizing the event and encouraged to conduct many more event as such in the future. The NSS volunteers successfully completed the event by 1pm and nearly 20 volunteers actively participated in the event. We are thankful for NSS program officer, Prof. Rajini D K, for giving us this opportunity and guiding us for organizing the event. We are also thankful for Dr. Veena, Principal, DSBA, Dr. Veena K N and the management for encouraging and supporting us to conduct the event.
