Bhimaroa Ramji Ambedkar, popularly known as Babasaheb Ambedkar, was an Indian Jurist, economist, politician and social reformer who has campaigned against social discrimination towards the untouchables, while also supporting the rights of women and labour. He is also known as the architect of the Indian Constitution. Remembering his great contributions to our nation, NSS wing of Dayananda Sagar Business Academy along with BR. Ambedkar study centre, the committee for SC/ST celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti on 15th April 2021 at 11:30 am in the library.
Dr. Veena K N, Dean Prof. Rajani SS Program Officer, faculty and non-teaching staff paid respect by offering a floral tribute to Ambedkar’s photograph. Dr. Veena K.N the Dean DSBA, stressed upon Ambedkar Jayanti which is celebrated not just in India but all around the world. She talked about the struggle of Dr. Ambedkar for equality throughout his life, and his birthday celebrated as Equality Day in India, and the demand to declare this day as International Equality Day goes to the United Nations.
Prof. Prakasha of Kannada Department and co-ordinator for B.R Ambedkar study centre and SC/ST committee expressed his opinion about people from all walks of life pay homage to Babasaheb and pledge to follow his ideologies. He was one of the prominent personalities who were against the social evil of untouchability and devoted a major part of his life fighting for the cause and upliftment of the backward society.
