With the aim of enhancing team performance through experiential learning. Dayananda Sagar Business Academy organized an out bound training programme from 4th May to 19th May 2023 for B.Com, BBA and BCA 2nd semester students with M.Com 1st Semester Students. The out bound training was organized at EAGLES UNBOUND located in Kagallipura off Kanakapura main road.

The objective of the programme was to-

  • To understand the individual and team behaviour and make the students understand relevant aspects of intra-personal and interpersonal management
  • To bring an improvement in the areas of teamwork, team bonding, communication, leadership, time management, problem solving, decision making, motivation, change and personality development

About 193 students of B.Com, BBA and BCA 2nd sem along with M.Com students and 2 staff faculty Nazeer Pasha sir and Hema ma’am from DSBA participated in the training programme. The previous day students were instructed on all the whare abouts of training by the member of the training centre and the faculty coordinators.

On 4th of May the bus from college started at 9:30am and reached the adventures site at 9:45am . After light breakfast, the students were briefed about the do’s and don’ts and the students were divided into two equal groups and taken the activite site. One team was engaged in the team activities while the other was in rope avtivities.

For the team activities the students were divided into four equal groups before which a fun warm up was given to become familiar with the fellow mates. The first activity was passing a hoped rope from one member to other and completed quickly. The rope was not allowed to touch the ground while it had to pass through the circularly held team. It deveopled the team skills and bonding.

The next activity was all about the team communication and coordination. It was called ‘ wall, rabbit and hunter.

This was followed by passing a stick activity where a student had to run through every other team member standing in a line in zigzag and reach till the end and pass on the sticks and continue the same till the last member. This game was about the sync in the members and competing with other teams.

Then the game was a coordination based where the students passed a ping pong ball on a ring held by all the members of team by threads tied to ring. It was all about balance and focus in team as well as individual. Next was a fun activity of picking shoes from a heap of them and collecting the maximum.

The students were provided with juice as energizer in the games Then it was lunch time with a wholesome food. After lunch the teams were swapped to attend team activities and rope activities.

The rope activities consisted of wall climbing, two bridges crossing . These activities provided students with courage, mental stability and physical strength.

This was followed by rain dance which was extremely fun and splendid with energetic trending sounds being played where our faculty Prof. Nazeer Pasha was also a part and had fun together .

It was 6:30 by then, served with hi-tea followed by tent pitching. The instructor briefed about tent pitching and the tents were pitched by students indoor.

The first day was wrapped up with fire camp after a supper. The cold whether was washed away by the fire camp which was shooting and fun.

The second day started at 7am when the tents were unpitched and breakfast served. Futher the students were divided into three groups . One team was taken to shooting and archery. Both the activities were loved by the students . They emphasized on aim and focus.

The 2nd team was in zip liner with all the safety measures taken. The 3rd team was engaged in obstacle clearing like those of army training . It was though , challenging yet a great experience . It built a strong will to complete the task and developed group unity.

All the three teams took part in all the three activities. This was followed by physical puzzle. The activities were ended by tug of war which was again totally team based and fun as well.The students had their lunch and ended the training programme with a gratitude for the ‘EAGLES UNBOUND’ .

The green environment filled with trees and plants with great surrounding was a truly fabulous experience and learning. Two days passed in just no time.

The institution provided the best ever, supportive and fun loving faculties who stood by all the students and gave their immense encouragement and strength. The camping programme can be called a successful one
