Training on Communication Skills - By CIL

In the light of improving the student’s communication and presentation skills, the institution provided us with training program by IQAC & Dept. of Commerce and Management in association with Centre for Innovation and Leadership. The program satisfied the purpose it was intended to.

The day started with the introduction of the trainer Mr. Mukesh who is a well experienced trainer with working experience in various job sectors. The trainer divided the class into groups and asked what can be expected from him and what he could expect from students. Once we had a mutual understanding of what can be expected from each other a theory class on communication and its pillars was given.

Then the trainer conducted an activity similar to 'Chinese whispers' that focused on team work, team strategy and communication skills through the team. It was quiet fun. After the lunch break, it was entirely a practical activity of event management.

This activity was all about planning and formulating a budget for a marriage with 3 events namely, ' haldi and mehandi','the reception’, ‘the wedding' of a millionaire. We were supposed to present a budget prepared for the event and brief about the event to be conducted. Four groups were made and each group came up well in showing their creativity, planning, presentation and communication skills. The trainer was impressed by the students' active participation in the session.

The day served its purpose. We were all trained well on the skills and ended up with a confidence of presenting ourselves. We, the students were grateful for the trainer and the program at the end of the day.
