“Pass the Pressure” – Mastering the Art of Stress Management

Organized by The HR Club, Dayananda Sagar Business Academy (DSBA) Date: 17th December 2025

The HR Club at Dayananda Sagar Business Academy (DSBA) recently hosted “Pass the Pressure,” a high-energy activity designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and the intense realities of the professional world. By simulating real-world stress interview scenarios in a gamified format, the event provided students with a safe yet challenging platform to test their mettle. The session focused on the unpredictable nature of modern hiring processes, where technical knowledge often takes a backseat to a candidate’s ability to remain composed under significant psychological pressure.

The mechanics of the activity were simple but effective: students passed a ball around a circle, and the individual holding it when the music stopped was immediately subjected to a rapid-fire stress question. These questions were crafted to mimic “the hot seat,” pushing participants to think on their feet without the luxury of preparation. This interactive approach transformed the daunting prospect of a stress interview into a lively, competitive exercise, allowing students to experience the adrenaline of a professional challenge while maintaining an atmosphere of peer learning and engagement.

Beyond the fun and games, “Pass the Pressure” served as a vital exercise in building core professional competencies. Participants were forced to sharpen their presence of mind, refine their communication skills, and, most importantly, manage their emotional responses in real-time. By stepping out of their comfort zones, students learned that resilience and composure are skills that can be developed through practice. The activity successfully demonstrated that while technical skills might get you an interview, it is the ability to handle the “pressure” that ultimately secures a place in the corporate world.
