Industry Visit to Cothas Coffee Company – An Experiential Learning Initiative
The Department of MBA, Dayananda Sagar Business Academy (DSBA), under the banner of Beyond Classrooms – An Experiential Learning Initiative, organized an Industry Visit to Cothas Coffee Company for I Semester MBA students (Batch 2025–2027) on 10 January 2026.
The visit was designed to provide students with practical exposure to industry operations and to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world business practices. During the visit, students had the opportunity to observe the coffee processing and production stages, understand quality control measures, and gain insights into packaging, branding, and distribution processes followed by the company.
Representatives from Cothas Coffee interacted with the students and explained the company’s journey since its establishment in 1949, highlighting its legacy in the Indian coffee industry and its commitment to maintaining quality and innovation. The session helped students understand how traditional expertise and modern technology combine to create a strong and trusted brand.
The visit also enabled students to connect theoretical concepts from subjects such as operations management, supply chain management, and marketing with actual industry practices. Through this interaction, students gained valuable knowledge about manufacturing processes, market positioning, and the importance of quality assurance in the food and beverage sector.
Such initiatives reflect DSBA’s commitment to holistic management education by providing students with opportunities to learn beyond the classroom and engage directly with industry practices.
