On the 8th of July’17, the first year students were in for an exciting session on ‘Why Start Ups?’The session was between 11 am and 12:30 pm in the DSATM ‘A’ Block, 4th floor seminar hall.

The resource person for the session was Mr Ashu Sinha; Co-Founder & Managing Director Robonomics. Mr Sinha holds a Masters in Marketing and Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering. He heads the APAC business for RobonomicsAI & is responsible for business in the region and setting up a Center of Excellence for the organization catering across different regions. He started his session stating the truth behind start ups.He said in the past people aspired to work in established companies, were interested in climbing the corporate ladder and craved for job security. But now, it’s all about start ups. First, he spoke about the start up myths and burst the myths by stating the reality that building a start up takes a lot more, as in navigating an idea maze & accepting failures. Secondly, he explained the start up truths.-Mastery, autonomy and purpose which are required for joining or starting a start up. He said that working for a growing company is an amazing experience. At a start up, one can choose who, what, where and how to work .Thirdly, he enlightened the students about the start up careers. He suggested that in one’s career, at least once, one must join a big, established company as one understands the nitty -gritty of the organizational policies and procedures! Then, one must join a startup .He shared the details about how to find a good start up to join. Fourthly, he explained about getting started. He alleged that a start up is one way to accomplish a dream .He told the students to study, build & advised them to share everything. By sharing, one learns mastery, branding and quality.

Thus, he ended his talk by saying that the purpose of his presence in the seminar hall was to share everything he had learned with his audience-the students & was open to questions.

The students found the session awe inspiring and very informative. The points which were covered were interesting & it opened their eyes as well as their minds!
