NCC is known for its aim to develop character, discipline companionship, leadership, the quest for adventure and noble service amongst the youth of the country.
At DSBA, NCC wing is vibrant ever since its inception. Weekly Drills and Commands aim at inculcating a sense of discipline, ensures smartness in appearance and turn out, creates self-confidence and develops implicit obedience. Camaraderie, motivation, enthusiasm and a healthy spirit of competition is consistently high among the DSBA cadets. In the short duration of its initiation, cadets have participated in Special Combined Annual Training Camp, Range Firing Practise, have been selected for shooting competitions, adopted community development activities to name a few! Prof [Lieutenant] Nagaraju, Associated NCC officer coordinates the activities in the institution.
Looking at the opportunities offered in NCC and aspiring to follow the footsteps of the senior cadets at college, the freshers have enrolled in big numbers in the NCC wing during the current academic session.
One event that cadets looked forward to was the Combined Annual Training Camp [CATCVIII] / Thal Sainik Camp that was held at Govt Polytechnic College under the aegis of 2 Kar Bn from 27th Aug’18 to 05 Sept’18.
4 SD and 4 SW cadets from DSBA attended the 10-day camp.
SW girls who attended the camp were Pushpalatha, Sowmya, Latha and Yashaswini [III Year BCom] and SD boys who were present at the camp were Raj Kishore and Dinesh [II Year BCom], Mohammad Anas [ II Year BBA] and Tejeshwara [III Year BCom]
The camp had rigorous regime and trained the cadets in various disciplines. The cadets from various colleges interacted with each other and participated in inter-college competitions. However, the most exciting training the cadets awaited eagerly for was firing, as that was an amazing and thrilling experience. The activities organised at the camp were Drill, Trekking, Firing, Rifle Drill, Forms of Sporting Activities, Guard of Honour training among others.
Inspite of the stiff competition , DSBA cadets landmarked some commendable accomplishments.
Cadet Sowmya won Gold Medal in Kho Kho.
Cadets Tejeshwara, Dinesh and Raj Kishore won Silver Medals in Volleyball.
Cadet Raj Kishore was awarded the Best all -rounder Medal.
The cadets have done the institution proud with their outstanding achievements!
