Orientation on Tally/ Microsoft Excel/DM and Other Training Programs

In the noon of 9th July 2019 between 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, first year students were given an ‘Orientation on Tally/ Microsoft Excel/DM and Other Training Programs’ at the IV floor hall.

The trainer was Mr Kiran Kumar P S. Founder Director of NICT Computer Education. He is a major decision maker on behalf of IT’s in creation of course curriculum for VTP under DITED under government of Karnataka. Also, a Mentor for many college students in Bangalore, he has trained many students in IT Education Stream who are currently working in many Multinational companies. He imparts training on Tally. ERP 9, Microsoft Excel and Digital Marketing in more than 65 colleges in Bangalore city. He is directly associated with Tally, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Autodesk and Corel as official Training Partner, Assessment & Certification Body. He is a workaholic & as a speaker, he is known as a Crowd-Puller.  Mr Kumar is also decisive corporate-style administrator and social media savvy.

Mr Kumar started the session by telling students the purpose of the various training programs. He stated that there is a huge opportunity for skilled man power in various streams including service and insurance. There is gap between the industry requirements and the education received by the graduates. Industry today expects the students to be job ready. The emerging market trends do not consider the differentiation in age and gender among students. The candidates must possess integrated student skills -Fundamental skills [graduate degree], Technical skills [Tally. ERP9, MS Excel, DM to name a few] and Communication skills. Since students are very much active in social media, he suggested, they should make use of the technology and take it to the corporate level.

Mr Kiran Kumar enumerated and explained the skills that can be gained at college level:

Tally.ERP9- What is ERP? about Tally, things that are taught under Tally ERP9, salient features of Tally course, teaching methodology, NICT’S education initiative, why Tally institute of learning? He showed the verifiable certificate, newspaper clippings of successful candidates, employment opportunities available in Finance and Account domain and ended skill 1 with why learn Tally.

Digital Marketing (DM)-What is DM, advantages of DM and power of online marketing.

He asked the students if they were familiar with DM. To test it, he held a short quiz on how good are you @ Social Media? The students did remarkably well and soon enough, he explained all about social media, why DM, the speed and popularity, value of apps, advantages of DM; power of apps as it’s ruling the world today, value of time and what happens in one minute on a mobile. He said that right knowledge on the right platform can change one’s lifestyle. Certificates of DM, Amazon, Facebook, Google etc were shown to all students.

GST Specialist-Key milestones, Pre-GST estimated tax collection, he stated the statistics here about how the government has earned more revenue via GST, structure of GST, determination of GST charge and ended the skill with- be a specialist at GST

Microsoft Excel-advantages of MS Excel are-results are seen at a press of a button, and works fast at high speeds, in addition, he showed the course certificate and said that one can earn a badge too.

SAP- different modules in SAP, introduction to SAP modules, why SAP certification, SAP Power user program and who are the modern ERP vendors.

Skill # 6

Data Analytics (DA)-DA powers today’s enterprise, is project-based course, it’s the best paying business job and one gets a good salary, he spoke of industry’s using DA & why DA?

Corel DRAW-he discussed the advantages of CorelDRAW which are -data to design differently, innovative and productive, perfectly creative, and easy to learn & use.

Skill #8

Minor Skills-Related to Banking, Insurance & Stock Market and what it is, presentation skills, résumé and tools to build video résumé and key highlights of placements were touched upon!

Towards the end of his discussion, Mr Kumar emphasized on why all the above-mentioned skills should be attained at college and not outside; as well as, the advantages of learning the skills at college.

Mr Kiran Kumar ended his talk by reiterating that one cannot accumulate all the skills in the final year of college and hence it’s imperative that students should start right away! With that, he opened the floor to questions.

 The session was extremely helpful to the students as they were informed about the valuable skills that they are required to acquire for a promising career.
