The blackbook series was held on Saturday 11^th November 2021.The meeting started at 11AM and ended 12PM.

 The program began by the host Prof. Vaibhav and started introducing Shriyans Bhandari, who is the CEO and Co-founder of Greensole and director Heritage Girls school.

The host gave a short note about Greensole Company.

Greensole is an NGO which contributes to social good, by creating a self-sustaining infrastructure that facilitates the provision of the basic necessity of footwear to everyone, forever, environmental good, by refurbishing discarded shoes with zero carbon footprint and economic good by giving employment to refurbish shoes.

WHAT IS THE NEED FOR GREEN LIFESTYLE?

A green way of living has become a trend in the past years. More and more people are trying to incorporate lifestyle changes in their daily routine to reduce carbon footprints. PEOPLE BEHIND GREEN SOLE

Green Sole is a brainchild of Shriyans Bhandari and Ramesh Dhami. They both have run several marathons and would discard 3-4 shoes every year. The soles used to be in good condition, but they would get torn from sides.

They always wondered if they could find a way to keep the soles intact owing to the superior quality. After some research, they came up with the idea of refurbishing shoes into trendy slippers and footwear. An idea flourished into an eco-friendly enterprise that uses shoe soles and hence named as- Green Sole.

At the same time, they are very comfortable. You can flaunt the latest footwear that too with the satisfaction of being a part of sustainable living. There is no satisfaction bigger than contributing your bit to the conservation of the environment along with indirectly empowering economically weak section.

Till date Greensole Company has provided around 3,32,000 footwares and also saved 16,60,000 CO2 Emissions . By 2023 they aim to provide 10 lakh footware.

This company has also collaborated with many other companies like Adidas, Just dail , Akamai, Jaguar, Canon, Tata, DTDC, Make my trip, and many other companies.

The main motive of this program is to motivate and promote new startups by the upcoming generation with innovative ideas for the betterment of the environment and in nation building.
