Dayananda Sagar Business Academy had organized a Webinar on the topic ‘Teaching Through Case Study Methodology’ on the 08th of January 2022 as a training program in new teaching methodology for faculty members and students. Dr.V.Krishnamoorthy was invited to deliver the lecture through the zoom online platform.

Dr. Veena KN, Principal DSBA formally inaugurated the program at 10.00 am. Prof. Crissy Mathew welcomed and introduced the speaker to the faculty members of the college. The honored resource person Dr.V.Krishnamoorthy is a scholar of excellence who has 21years of experience and is also a gold medallist in MBA and M.com.

The webinar was divided into three sessions.,

Session I. 10.00 am-11.30am

Session II. 11.45am- 12.45pm

Session III. 2.00pm-4.00pm

Session I and III were exclusively earmarked for faculties and session ii was for students.

Session I

In the introductory session, Dr.V.Krishnamoorthy spoke about the teaching methodology in general, how teaching needs to be updated to the present teaching requirements, and ‘Case Study Methodology’ would be the optimum way to discuss a varied variety of subjects like marketing, strategy, finance, and other allied fields in a more practical oriented manner. The session concentrated on introducing and familiarizing the case study methodology.

Session II

The session was earmarked specially for students to make them realize the importance of case study. Students were also given an insight into the practical application of the case study, with multiple examples were shared showcasing the usage of case study methodology to cater to a varieties of problems and situation.

Session III

The final session of the webinar was more focused on the case study with the discussion on the ‘JK Tyres’, for which the material was shared prior by the resource person. The nuances and strategies were discussed in the session and the faculties were familiarized with the methodology and the material. Post discussions on the topic of the day, the faculties were given an opportunity to clarify their doubt in the Q&A time of the session. The webinar was concluded at 4.15 pm after a discussion on the varied application of case study methodology and how it would impart skills and knowledge to both the teaching faculties and the students.

Prof.Crissy Mathew gave the vote of thanks and thanked the Institution and Principal for organizing the webinar, the Speaker for his time and patience in sharing his expertise in the field, and finally the faculty for their enthusiastic participation in the webinar.
