Dayananda Sagar Business Academy is a member of UNPRME.  NSS wing of DSBA represented  at PRME India chapter meet  2021 with the agenda Partnering to build sustainable futures. Pratyusha G. of 3rd Bcom , was student  representative at the meet. Six principles of UNPRME was upheld in the discussion and it started with the opening note from Mette Morsing, Head, PRME, UN Global Compact, Copenhagen, New York. The meet started at 2.00pm and subsequently following programs were taken up. Dr. Veena K.N Principal DSBA also represented the meet. The meet pooled new ideas that are practically applied in the funded sustainable development projects of participant instituions. Some of the projects taken up were woman empowerment, rural marketing, Waste management and building education network to government schools through NGO's.

Student speaker of DSBA Ms. Pratyusha has put her instituions NSS wing's outreach activities. Some of the activities got good remarks from the panel were School activity and village empowerment program.

DSBA was the only institution, represented with undergraduate students. The six principles of PRME were truly given importance i.e.,

  1. To develop the capabilities of students to be future generators of sustainable value for business and society at large and to work for an inclusive and sustainable global economy.
  2. To incorporate into our academic activities, curricula, and organisational practices the values of global social responsibility as portrayed in international initiatives such as the United Nations Global Compact.
  3. To create educational frameworks, materials, processes and environments that enable effective learning experiences for responsible leadership.
  4. To engage in conceptual and empirical research that advances our understanding about the role, dynamics, and impact of corporations in the creation of sustainable social, environmental and economic value.
  5. To interact with managers of business corporations to extend our knowledge of their challenges in meeting social and environmental responsibilities and to explore jointly effective approaches to meeting these challenges.
  6. To facilitate and support dialog and debate among educators, students, business, government, consumers, media, civil society organisations and other interested groups and stakeholders on critical issues related to global social responsibility and sustainability.

The meet ended with the break out rooms creation for student panel discussion and vote of thanks by Chandrika Parmar.
