E-Cell (Entrepreneurship cell) Inauguration

Dayananda Sagar Business Academy had organized a seminar on E-Cell or Entrepreneurship Cell, it is a cell to support its students in raising funds for their new and unique technique for resolving the societal problems.

The seminar was held on Tuesday 14th June 2022. The session started at 11:00AM and ended at 1:30PM.

It started off by Prof. Roopashree ma’am enlightening us about e-cell and why it is necessary to support the young minds. Supryoga, is an E-Cell of Dayanand Sagar Business Academy.

The vision of the cell is to impart the entrepreneurial skill set and to create an entrepreneur mindset among the students.

We shouldn’t just think that business is all about risk taking, it’s also about how to break the glass wall and go ahead by bringing a difference in the life of people.

We were even said that there are a few colleges who support the students with their business ideas, and, that the students run a small stationary shop within the college premises.

Principal ma’am, had motivated the students to come up with new business ideas, and then there after the college will fund it and help the students grow, it was a good kick start for the students to get motivated and see opportunities to become the young entrepreneurs.

The speakers, Dr. Rajeev C Raghunath, he has an expertise in building products on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, having architected more than 7 products across various domains and also running both strategy and execution roadmap for organizations. He is also a certified Project Management Professional with area if expertise in AWS, Bigdata, Business Intelligence, CRM, ERP, Meta data Management and much more.

Mr. Nitin Prabhakar, who has 15 years of expertise in fields of Human Resources. He is also a certified trainer with ICBI accredited with NABET, certified NLP practitioner and certified in Emotional Quotient and transactional analysis. He also specializes in communicational skills. He has also trained employees on goal setting, work life balance, leadership and time and stress management in companies that include Infosys, BPO, Mahindra Satyam, soni and SSGA using natural Language Processing.

They guided us on how we can get started on a business, we were also told that it’s not necessary to always start big, as it’s economically not possible, so start small and aim to sustain in the market, and, to always have security amount so that when you start a start-up company you have enough to manage your expenses, as start-ups don’t generate income the same year, so, you have to have hope and not give up. Most of the star-ups shut down in the initial stages as they fear of not getting any amount credited to their account.

Dr. Rajeev, too told us about why he started his business, staying in corporate world was a good learning experience and now it was time for him to become a job giver.

He conducted an activity for the students which said, they had to make 4 teams with 4 members in each team.

The rules were:

• each team gets 10 mins to come up with a business idea,
• make a brand logo,
• to come up with a plan on how the business will make money
• what the company is all about
• how it will help the society as business is all about solving the problems of the society in an effective and efficient way.

The students came up with unique ideas relating to technology and recycling.

Few starting in the college premises and few developing applications related to fashion industry, movie Industry and a way to take a print out documents without the involvement of middlemen.

If the young minds can come up with such brilliant ideas in just a matter of few minutes, then with no doubt they can come up with something even better and bigger with proper guidance and support.

At the end we understood that you don’t need to always have a lump-sum amount to start with a business, as students you can start something small and earn minimal amount of profit from it, all the ideas look good on paper until you put in all your time and into it.
