Old Age Home Visit Shanthidhama

Visit to Shanthi Dham foundation - was an activity conducted by NSS wing. The purpose of the visit was to make the students realise their social responsibilities towards Senior citizens.

Firstly, the students reached the place at 10:30 AM and initially it started with the introduction of students followed by introduction of senior citizens. Through the introduction of students and senior citizens acquainted with each other.

After getting to know each other initially we the students made them to play different kinds of games few of them were dumb charades, bowling, Traditional Congkak games. All of them took part in the games enthusiastically and joyfully with a keen interest. By playing games they were delighted and glad. Games made them feel more energetic. By playing games they eradicated their boredom and were overjoyed.

Then it was followed by midday meal mon appropriate time. Students enjoyed having food with them and were happy to share the lunch time with them by having together.

After lunch it was continued by putting mehndi to all the women senior citizens and students played the music for them to dance to the songs and everyone took a active part in dancing and were in high spirits and joyed through these activities conducted by the students.

Later they shared their past experiences and life story of each one of them and the hurdles and sufferings faced by them and the reasons for comin to this foundation and taking shelter here in the foundation.while they sharing their past they were emotionally weak and also said how they came out of the grief . Many of the life stories said by them inspired us to work hard in life and moved us emotionally and increased our responsibilities towards such older folks and society as being students and we nurtured for them to be happy .

Then it was concluded by principal ma’am speech and gratitude . We also gave the respective acknowledgement of spending time there and left the place at 4:30 PM.
