YOGA

YOGA is the essentially a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body.

At Dayananda Sagar Business Academy, we had a four days session of yoga. Added to it we had an outskirts program for the yoga session that had happened in the Pyramid Valley International . Though prescribed by Bangaluru University, DSBA took over to make it more useful, resourceful, innovative and informative.

Our yoga sessions for 1st year students started from 27th September with an inaugural program by the class representatives under the directions of the class coordinators. The most enthusiastic ever charming yoga teacher Dr. Maruthi Ram sir who started the session with positivity.

The practical classes brought in a lot of physical strain to most of us as it involved proper blood rush and breathing . On learning from basic sittng,standing postures vajra aasana, padmaaasana , siddhaasana and more, each of us were experiencing total physical movement, posture corrections and breathing corrections as well . The relaxation by shavaasana was a very much relieving with the soothing music.

The theory class was about yoga and its history which later followed by a sessions of games in the backyard greens of the campus. On the next day we were quite more ready mentally and physically for the day. So the complexity in the physical exercise went a step ahead with the second level aasanas and also surya namaskar of 12 counts. The shavaasana again was very magical in its work. The afternoon sessions of theory class thought us about the types of yoga followed by some pranayama, yogic breathing practice and later on fun management games in the backyard of the campus

On the third day progression in postures was to all twists and turns like gomukaasana, vrikshaasana, surya namaskar-the warrior sequence and more followed by deep learning of 5 elements in the body and different types of pranayama like naadi shudhi etc.

The next day session was a recap of all the three days and a round of viva was conducted to understand our level of learning. There were a lot more things to be learnt well however there was a lot learnt also.

For the outskirts program all of us were taken to PYRAMID VALLEY INTERNATIONAL in Harohalli, Kanakapura main road with a small briefing of the place. After a small meditation in the open space on the green grass getting us connected with the nature at first, we were taken in to the PYRAMID for a deep meditation. This was an immense experience for each one of us. It relaxed our mind and soul, giving us inner peace for a while. Some of us very deeply connected to ourself within.

Followed by a small window shopping and lot of photo shoot by everyone we had a lunch break. Food was provided by the pyramid valley which was truly delicious.

Our super enthusiastic teacher lead us on a small trek to give us a adventure feel . We went through the trees, plants, rocks and with so many hurdles we finally reached the Tapaseestala

It was great experience. Later we were allowed for boating that the Pyramid Valley provides to every visitor. Boating was a total fun experience

We were back to campus after a long memorable day in the college transport. The way back was a great joy as we enjoyed with our fellow mates with songs and reached the campus with hand full of knowledge and experience.

The whole session of yoga including the outskirts was a truly great session conducted for us by DSBA. The experience is irreplaceable. The insights of yoga, breathing, lifestyle and the way of conduct we got from over beloved teacher Dr.Maruthi Ram sir is a huge bundle .

We the students of DSBA are greatful to sir. We also acknowledge to our Principal Dr. Veena madam and to our Program coordinators, for setting up this program for us. We are also thankful to our class coordinators

We are sure to continue the practices and inculcate our learning in our daily life and become fit mentally and physically.
